Nintendo 3DS (2011)

In 2011 the Nintendo 3DS did something no handheld had done before: real 3D images without glasses, thanks to a special parallax-barrier top screen. Add the Circle Pad, three cameras and StreetPass, and you get the console behind Pokémon X and Y, Animal Crossing: New Leaf and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

Most people never get to see what is inside the device that kept them company for so many years. At FunBox Design, our studio team takes every Nintendo 3DS apart by hand: careful disassembly, deep cleaning of every single part, layout design, and final production in our Los Angeles workshop. It takes hours of patient, screw-by-screw work, because these machines hold some of our own best memories too. Our goal is simple: bring them a second life.

A NOTE ON CHARACTER

Each piece is built from a real pre-owned device, so light scratches or small signs of age may show. We think they are part of its story.
