Apple iPod 5th Generation U2 Special Edition (2005)

Created with the band U2, the iPod U2 Special Edition stood out with a black body and a red Click Wheel, and the signatures of the band members engraved on its back. The fifth-generation iPod of 2005 also brought video playback to the iPod for the first time. It is a rare meeting of rock history and tech history.

We know how much an iPod U2 Special Edition can mean, because our own playlists lived on players like this one. Every piece starts with a real device that our studio team disassembles by hand, cleans part by part, lays out and mounts in our Los Angeles workshop. It is slow, careful work, and it finally lets you see the engineering hidden inside. This is how we bring it a second life.

A NOTE ON CHARACTER

Each piece is built from a real pre-owned device, so light scratches or small signs of age may show. We think they are part of its story.
