Tamiya Mini 4WD Hurricane Sonic (1995)

In the 1990s, Mini 4WD racing took over schoolyards across Japan and Asia, and the manga and anime Bakusou Kyoudai Let’s & Go!! made it legendary. The Hurricane Sonic, the car of Retsu Seiba, was the one every kid wanted to build, tune and race. Motors, gears, rollers and a lot of dreams fit inside this little machine.

Most people never see their childhood toys from the inside. Our studio team takes every Hurricane Sonic apart by hand, from the motor and gears to the chassis, wheels and body, cleans each part and lays it out piece by piece in our Los Angeles workshop. These little cars hold some of our own best childhood memories, and this is how we bring them a second life.
