Casio Vintage A158W (1989)

Since 1989, the Casio A158W has been on wrists all over the world: a slim steel-look case, a simple LCD with alarm, stopwatch and light, and a battery that lasts for years. Cheap, tough and timeless, it became a retro style icon that designers, engineers and celebrities still wear today.

Most people never get to see what is inside the watch that kept them on time every day. At FunBox Design, our studio team takes every Casio A158W apart by hand: careful disassembly of its tiny parts, cleaning, layout design, and final production in our Los Angeles workshop. It takes hours of patient work, because these everyday objects hold some of our own memories too. Our goal is simple: bring them a second life.
