BlackBerry Bold 9000 (2008)

In 2008 the BlackBerry Bold 9000 was the phone of executives, journalists and anyone addicted to email, so addicted that people called it the “CrackBerry.” Its full QWERTY keyboard, trackball, sharp 480 x 320 screen and silver side band made it the best-looking BlackBerry of its time.

Most people never get to see what is inside the phone that stayed in their pocket every day for years. At FunBox Design, our studio team takes every BlackBerry Bold apart by hand: careful disassembly, deep cleaning of every single part, layout design, and final production in our Los Angeles workshop. It takes hours of patient, screw-by-screw work, because these devices hold some of our own best memories too. Our goal is simple: bring them a second life.

A NOTE ON CHARACTER

Each piece is built from a real pre-owned device, so light scratches or small signs of age may show. We think they are part of its story.
