The pieces
Are these made from real devices?
Yes. Every teardown piece starts as a genuine device that we take apart by hand, then lay out and frame. Each frame holds most of the device's original parts. No replicas, no printed images.
Does the device still work?
No. Once a device is disassembled and framed, it becomes a decorative art piece. Nothing inside is powered, and it can't be switched back on.
Will my device show signs of age?
Most likely, and that's part of its story. The devices we frame are mostly 10 to 30 years old, so you may see surface scratches or a slightly cracked screen.
Unless the product page lets you choose an option, the exact unit and its color are selected at random.
Why do prices go up over time?
Many of the devices we work with are vintage, and only a limited number still exist. They get harder to source with every piece we make, so a design's price rises by 10% each time 100 are sold.
What sizes and frame finishes are available?
It depends on the piece. Dimensions and any frame finish options are listed on each product page.
Where are your pieces made?
In our studio in Los Angeles, California. Every piece is built by hand there and ships from there.
Will you release new designs?
Yes. We keep refining our existing pieces and developing new designs, step by step. Sign up for our emails to see new work first.
How do I care for my piece?
Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from humidity. To clean, wipe the glass with a soft, dry cloth. Never spray cleaner directly onto the frame.
Custom orders
Can you frame my own device?
Yes. We take made-to-order commissions, including pieces built from a device you send us, so the one in the frame is the one that was with you.
Pricing depends on the device and design. Tell us about your project and we'll send a quote. Shipping your device to us is at your own cost.
Can I order a custom 3D camera piece?
Sorry, not at the moment. Every mechanical camera has its own intricate structure and hundreds of small parts, and mastering a new model takes a great deal of time and cost. For now, our camera pieces are available in their existing designs only.
Do you take corporate gifts or bulk orders?
Absolutely. Any device, any design, any size. Visit Business clients to get started.
Do you sell digital files or templates?
No. We don't sell digital files or share our design source files.
Orders & payment
Which payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Venmo, plus pay-over-time options. Available methods depend on your country and device. Checkout is fully encrypted, and we never see or store your card number.
Shipping & duties
Where do you ship?
To most countries worldwide. Shipping is calculated automatically at checkout based on your address.
Within the US, orders ship free via USPS Ground Advantage, FedEx Ground or UPS Ground. Need it sooner? Overnight and 2-day delivery are available at additional cost.
Will I have to pay import duties?
Possibly. Shipping costs don't include import duties or taxes your country may charge; these are paid by the recipient.
When your parcel reaches your country, look out for a notice from your local post office or carrier. We can't take responsibility for parcels returned because duties weren't paid or the package wasn't collected.
Returns & cancellations
What if my piece arrives damaged?
Every frame is handmade and can be damaged if it's handled roughly in transit. If that happens, contact us within 7 days of delivery. It's usually an easy fix, we also accept exchanges, and we cover the shipping both ways.
Can I return my order?
Every piece is handmade and made to order, and each one takes a great deal of time to build by hand. For these reasons, as a rule we don't accept returns except in truly exceptional circumstances. If we do approve one, return shipping is paid by the customer and the refund goes back to your original payment method.
If there's a problem with how your piece was made, contact us within 7 days of delivery and keep the original packaging. We'll make it right with a repair or an exchange, at our shipping cost. See our full returns & exchanges policy.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, within 24 hours of placing it. Contact us with your order number as soon as possible. After 24 hours, orders can no longer be cancelled.
