In 2020 the Apple M1 moved the Mac to Apple’s own silicon and changed what a laptop could do. It packed the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine and unified memory into one system-on-a-chip, delivering huge performance with remarkable battery life, and it started a new era for the Mac.

Most people never see the incredible city of circuits inside a chip. At FunBox Design, our studio team recreates the Apple M1’s layout as detailed printed artwork, then casts it by hand in crystal-clear resin in our Los Angeles workshop, polishing every block until it shines. It is our way of turning a milestone of computing into something you can hold and keep on your desk.
