Google Pixel 1st Generation (2016)

The first Google Pixel of 2016 was the first phone sold as “Made by Google,” the start of Google building its own hardware. With its glass window on the back, the debut of Google Assistant and an award-winning camera, it set the direction for every Pixel that followed.

Behind the glass is something you rarely get to see: the inside of a Google Pixel that once carried someone’s calls, texts and photos. Our studio members spend hours on each piece, from disassembly and cleaning to designing the layout and producing the final piece, all by hand in Los Angeles. We grew up with these phones, and every build is our way of giving a beloved piece of tech history a second life.

A NOTE ON CHARACTER

Each piece is built from a real pre-owned device, so light scratches or small signs of age may show. We think they are part of its story.
