Apple iPod 1st Generation Collector’s Edition (2001)

On October 23, 2001, Steve Jobs pulled a small white box out of his pocket and promised “1,000 songs in your pocket.” The first iPod, with its tiny 5GB hard drive, its mechanical scroll wheel and FireWire syncing with iTunes, turned Apple into a music company and led straight to the iPhone. It is one of the most important products Apple ever made.

This is one of our Collector’s Edition pieces, the top of our line. Our studio team disassembles each original iPod by hand, from the scroll wheel to the tiny hard drive, cleans every part, and lays the parts out across two frames, built with a sensor LED light at the top that lights the display like a museum case. Most people never get to see inside the device that started the iPod era. This is how we give it a second life.

A NOTE ON CHARACTER

Each piece is built from a real pre-owned device, so light scratches or small signs of age may show. We think they are part of its story.
